Mazda RX7 FD3S Racing Front Brake Ducts / Backing Plates

One of the main problem with upgrading the standard front brakes to large discs is that the stock backing plates no longer fit.  The stock blacking plate also does not include a fresh air port. Another issues with the stock brakes and heavy track use on big brake kits is brake fade due to excessive heat build up.

The TGS Tuning racing brake ducts are designed to reduce brake fade when connected into the high pressure zone at the front of the car. The Ducts / Backing plates come with a 76mm / 3″ port where you can attach Flexible ducting hose (Sold Separately).

Fitment

Start by jacking up the car and securing the chassis on axle stands, Remove you wheels and then you can get to the brakes. Remove the brake calipers and safely hang out the way do not disconnect the brake line/ hose. in the center of the hub you will find a silver cap which covers the hub nut. Remove this cap and the hub nut, Slide off the front hub. Remove the three 12mm fixing bolts on the standard blacking plate. Fit the new TGS backing plate using the original fixings do these up hand tight at the moment. Slide the hub back onto the shaft along with the brake disc. gently tap the backing plate by hand to center the backing plate to the disc. Remove the hub again and tighten up the three fixing bolts on the blacking plate. You can now rebuild everything else back up in reverse.
