Anti Tune ECU Systems
Since mid 2009, many vehicles have been fitted with ‘protected’ Anti Tune Bosch EDC17 & MED17 ECUs using an Infineon Tricore processor. People are often told that these new Tricore ECUs cannot be remapped. As the vehicle has “Tuning protection” or the ECU itself is “Locked”. There is no such thing as a “Locked” or “Anti-tuning” software. Rather than admit they have no knowledge on these latest systems they simply say it is not possible. Topgear Tuning has a safe and reliable solution to allow you to be able to tune these types of ECUs.
At Topgear Tuning we are able to program ‘anti-tune’ ECUs via a Bootloader technique as pictured right, which involves the removal of the ECU from the vehicle and making a direct connection, allowing the reading & writing of the Tricore processor left.

This procedure takes around 4 hours to complete. The ecu system is also enabled this turns on programing via the serial OBD port. We do not relock the ecu unlike many other tuners.
